Bruce Milburn’s legal practice is focused on commercial real estate and development, including purchase and sale transactions, leasing, mortgage financing, municipal/provincial development approvals and development agreements and environmental aspects of land development and real property. Bruce works exclusively for builder/developer and institutional and private lender clients.

Before joining SR in 2008, he was vice president of real estate and legal counsel for a large Canadian-based multi-national real estate company. Prior to that, Bruce was a partner with a large Toronto law firm in its real estate group. Bruce was called to the Bar in 2001 after having obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from Dalhousie University in 2000. Bruce also holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies, Planning, from the University of Waterloo (1982) and a Master of Science in Planning from the University of Toronto (1984). Before returning to school to become a lawyer, he gained valuable and practical real estate development experience during 12 years of work as a planning consultant and real estate development manager in the Toronto area. Bruce has been a partner of the firm since 2013.

Bruce brings a practical and experienced perspective to the practice of law, offering personalized and economical solutions for complex legal real estate and development issues.

Bruce is active in charity work and was formerly the President of the Executive Committee of Epilepsy Ontario.
