Jon is a partner at the firm who maintains a broad-based commercial practice, advising lenders, developers, and business owners on complex commercial transactions across Ontario.
Jon joined the firm in 2022 and became a partner in 2026. He was called to the Bar in 2015. Jon earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.), with a concentration in Business Law, from Western Law School in 2014, and his Honours Bachelor of Arts, with an Honours Specialization in Criminology and a minor in Psychology, from The University of Western Ontario in 2010.
Jon has extensive experience in real estate development, secured lending, commercial acquisitions and dispositions, and commercial leasing. He regularly acts on low- and mid-rise condominium and freehold developments, including mixed-use, commercial, and industrial properties, as well as condominium residential conversion projects, advising clients from initial acquisition through to completion and sale.
In his secured lending practice, Jon acts for institutional lenders, credit unions, and private lenders in connection with construction financing, inventory loans, refinancing, and other secured lending transactions. He also regularly acts for borrowers and developers in connection with their own acquisitions, development projects, refinancings, and related financing arrangements. Jon also advises clients on the acquisition and disposition of businesses and commercial real estate, whether for development, as income-producing assets, or for use in an owner’s ongoing business operations.
His practice includes drafting and negotiating commercial leases, as well as reviewing leases in the context of financings and acquisitions, acting for both landlords and tenants.
Outside of the office, Jon enjoys spending time with his family, following the Toronto Blue Jays, catching up on the latest shows, and the occasional round of golf.
