David Markowitz’s law practice focuses on a range of commercial real-estate matters.
David regularly acts for chartered banks, trust companies, credit unions and other lenders with respect to a variety of financing transactions including condominium and subdivision servicing and construction loans as well as acquisition and take out financing with respect to apartment and office buildings, hotels, plazas and other commercial and mixed use properties.
He also acts for and advises builders, developers, private investors and businesses in connection with the acquisition and disposition of land and commercial real-estate and in relation to leasing and general corporate-commercial matters.
In relation to commercial leasing, municipal law and other real-estate matters, David has also appeared as counsel before the Committee of Adjustment and all levels of court in the province, including the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
David attended McMaster University on an academic entrance scholarship, where he earned his B.A. in 2001, graduating on the Dean’s Honour List. David then earned his LLB from the University of Windsor in 2004 and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2005. David joined the firm in 2012 and has been a partner since 2017.
